Smiley was recognized for its implementation of the California PBIS program with fidelity to the national framework. 

Redlands Unified School District was presented with a Golden Bell Award for the C-STEM computer science and mathematics program.  Smiley Elementary was one of the first elementary schools in Redlands to pilot the program.
