Smiley Elementary School provides an environment and opportunity for all students to achieve their full potential while becoming responsible citizens and independent thinkers. At Smiley we inspire a community of leaders and learners to achieve their highest potential in an academically rigorous and joyful learning environment that celebrates our cultural diversity. Through our comprehensive instructional program and a nurturing, secure environment, students are empowered to become lifelong learners. We are continuing to celebrate the successes of our students through Awards Assemblies and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. Our school is a place where partnerships between teachers, students and families are vital and collaboration in the classroom is the norm. We are committed to a student-centered approach, believing that the questions, ideas, and interests of our students serve as the most authentic source for motivation.  Within the Smiley community, students begin to understand their ability and responsibility to positively impact others, as fellow students and citizens. Dear Smiley Elementary Community,

It is an honor and privilege to serve as the Assistant Principal of Smiley Elementary. I bring with me 33 years of enriching experience in public education. My journey has encompassed  8 years of teaching at the elementary and middle school levels, followed by 25 years as an elementary school administrator; 5 years as an assistant principal and 20 years as principal.

Throughout my career, I have been driven by a passion for helping all of my students succeed. The schools I have led have consistently been recognized for their outstanding academic achievements and for our dedicated approach to supporting special education students. My commitment is to build on this success and ensure that every student at Smiley Elementary receives a high-quality educational experience.

I am enthusiastic about teaming up with our educators, classified support staff, students, and families to continue fostering an environment where every child can excel. Together, we will create a community that values excellence in education.

I am excited to become a part of the Smiley Elementary family and look forward to the wonderful accomplishments this team will achieve together in the upcoming school year.
