Welcome to Smiley!
Smiley Elementary School provides an environment and opportunity for all students to achieve their full potential while becoming responsible citizens and independent thinkers. At Smiley we inspire a community of leaders and learners to achieve their highest potential in an academically rigorous and joyful learning environment that celebrates our cultural diversity. Through our comprehensive instructional program and a nurturing, secure environment, students are empowered to become lifelong learners.
We are continuing to celebrate the successes of our students through Awards Assemblies and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. Our school is a place where partnerships between teachers, students and families are vital and collaboration in the classroom is the norm. We are committed to a student-centered approach, believing that the questions, ideas, and interests of our students serve as the most authentic source for motivation.
Within the Smiley community, students begin to understand their ability and responsibility to positively impact others, as fellow students and citizens. Dear Smiley Elementary Community,
I am honored to serve Smiley Elementary as your Assistant Principal.
I bring with me over 30 years of experience in public education, including 8 years as a classroom teacher at both the elementary and middle school levels, and more than 25 years as an elementary school administrator.
Throughout my career, I have become deeply invested in supporting student success. The schools I have served have consistently been recognized for academic excellence and for creating inclusive, supportive environments for all students, including those in special education. My ongoing commitment is to help ensure that every student at Smiley Elementary receives a high-quality education in a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment.
I look forward to partnering with our entire staff, students and their families, and the community as a whole, as we continue to build a strong school culture focused on pride and excellence. Together, we will strive to make this a successful year filled with accomplishments and meaningful experiences.
